Shoreline Community College Virtual College Initiative

Shoreline Community College's overall enrollment for the past six years has been flat in contrast with the College's significant growth in hybrid and online courses. These facts, coupled with Shoreline's geographic catchment area as the smallest in the state, resulted in President Lambert charging a task force to examine the feasibility of strengthening the College's online presence.

President Lambert charged the Virtual College Leadership Team to develop and deliver a set of recommendations, in the form of a "blueprint" document, for a Virtual College for SCC by March 1, 2011.

President Lambert created a Virtual College Implementation Team in April 2011 to begin implementing prioritized areas, primarily in student services, of the blueprint. A second implementation team was created in December 2011 to begin implementing instructional programs.

The Virtual College initiative supports the institution's core themes.
